What a wild day today was.
For my second Fiesta Movement Mission, I went to the Sirius Satellite Radio Studios in NYC to meet a few people and get a tour of the studio. I got there a bit early, and was taken into “The Fishbowl,” a recording studio surrounded by glass. While in there, I got to listen to these four Norweigian women called Katzenjammer. Not only were they absolutely beautiful, these ladies played at least 3 instruments each (that I saw; I’m sure they play more).
In the Sirius Lobby, I was met by Cassandra White, and they told me the rules of the studio. In my mission video, you will notice there is no filming anywhere but the two studios I was in. Also, we were not allowed to do any recording in Howard Stern’s studio. BUT I WAS THERE.
Anyways.
We take off, and see the studio itself. The walls are covered with glass panels, of which are the signatures of hundreds of music and entertainment personalities. They rotate the panals so that the entire studio gets the view of various signatures. Paul McCartney is the only one who does not move, and thats because he is such a bada$$ that he signed the actual wall and they put glass OVER it.
We start off seeing the technology of this place, and putter around looking at computers and smaller booths. I saw the booth where some of my favorite Radio Shows are broadcasted. Our first stop was to meet Jose from Liquid Metal, who will be the host of headbangers ball on MTV. Jose was wicked cool and really funny, quite a strong personality. He recorded a transition voiceover where we were in the backround. Then we got into it. Eric, another Fiesta Agent, (http://fiestamovement.com/agents/view/39) went off to the Martha Stewart show, and I went to Adam Schein’s NFL talkshow. We stayed inside the non-broadcast room while he was going. He invited me into his studio while he was broadcasting live. There were Patriots couches in the studio itself, which made me very happy. Adam was really nice as well, and we got to talk shop about the Red Sox, (he does a baseball channel as well.) I’m telling you people, Sirius is the way to go! These shows are really awesome.
We then made our way into Howard Stern’s famous studio. Now, I wasn’t allowed to film or photograph ANYTHING, but let me tell you, it was awesome. Everything was there, his old chair from KROCK, the Wheel of Sex, everything. It was really cool. I was near giddy. We got to meet his staff, and saw how a radio station is run.
Finally, as we were walking out, there was Ron Jeremy. Amazing.
An aside: I had asked to meet Jason Ellis and will put this on my video as well:
Jason, I would be honored if you came to Boston, did some training, and we sparred. That’d be fun.
As I drove home, I heard the transition peice from Jose’s show, which was really cool. Then I called Jason Ellis’s show with hopes that he would bite about the MMA fighter, Maynard, with no arms and legs. Suffice to say, He didn’t.
All in all, a surreal and awesome experience. So much fun. Red Dragons.
Keep on Reading!
